Dr. Steve Tsoukalas, Ph.D.

Current & Past Research

In addition to his M.Div. and his Th.M. in Hindu studies, Dr. Tsoukalas’s doctoral studies focused upon both classical orthodox Christology and Hindu philosophy/theology. He has authored several books that contribute to the disciplines of theology, Christology, cult studies and Hindu studies, with publishers such as Paternoster, Judson Press, and Presbyterian and Reformed. With the Edwin Mellen Press, Dr. Tsoukalas is working on a six-volume exegetical commentary on the Bhagavad Gita. He also has published articles in academic journals and has contributed a chapter in an edited work on the Bhagavad Gita, published by Peeters/Eerdmans.

Current research interests pertain to the field of Hindu studies. Dr. Tsoukalas spends most of his writing and research time toward the completion of his exegetical commentary on the Bhagavad Gita. After the completion of this commentary, Dr. Tsoukalas plans to turn attention to the issue of historicity and faith as it pertains to making a case for the uniqueness of Christ (all established in the context of a foundational epistemology) in comparing Christ and Krishna (and, by implication, Christ and other sacred figures of other religions).
