Biography
Mary is my bride since 1984. We have six children - Caleb, Joshua, Elijah, Hannah, Ezekiel, and Isaiah. Our passion in life is to finally get to some New Testament names!
My hometown is Great Bend, Kansas. The Lord found me in a house church there and He deepened that commitment during my years at the University of Kansas. I attended Kansas on a track and field scholarship. From there I arrived at Asbury Seminary and had my life significantly shaped by Allan Coppedge and the Barnabas Foundation (a discipleship ministry) and served on staff with him there. I went back to Kansas and received a Ph.D. in education before traveling to Mississippi where I have served as professor at Wesley Biblical Seminary since 1987. I have written five books (plus a DVD) and a children’s catechism and have some other projects going now.
Apart from WBS I am the founding pastor of DaySpring Community Church in Clinton, I have a radio talk show broadcast daily on American Family Radio and I am a contributing columnist for the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. As part of our church ministry I participate weekly in prison and pro-life ministries. I weightlift and blog and enjoy reading in the other seven free minutes I have per week.
