Welcome to Wesley
Being equipped to serve the present age is vital. We must not go to a broken world in the name of the Divine Physician with no medicine in our physician bags! So Paul commands Timothy to “study to show thyself approved, a workman unto God.” 2 Peter 1:5 says, “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge.”
Here at Wesley Biblical Seminary, God has remarkably drawn together excellent faculty who are spiritually gifted to teach. The end of such pursuit is not to compile data via research; our quest for knowledge is to build faith and goodness. We learn in order to be faithful, ethically good, ministers of the gospel. Our pursuit of knowledge is contextualized by our pursuit to serve God’s world. What you learn here will equip you to serve.
The center of our truth system is the verity of God’s Word, the Bible. We believe the Bible to be specially revealed and inspired by God, revealing Christ as our “only wise God and Savior.” Without apology, we study scripture to discern its advocacy for faith and practice rather than to disparage its credibility. The study of the Bible is central for building the community of Christian faith, for the work of God and the Word of God cannot be disparate.
Theological and Biblical study are not merely academic pursuits at Wesley Biblical Seminary. Right thinking and belief comes to its full fruition when one is experiencing faith and obedience to Christ. Personal commitment to Christ makes one vibrant with His life. Through faith, we not only know about Him, but we possess Him, and He possesses us!
Christ is calling workers, holy servants, to share His great and gracious salvation with His world. The world needs the Lord’s grace and healing love. The Divine Physician is sending Christ’s “called ones” to be ministers of healing grace.
